SWEET VALENTINES AT THE BUTTERED TIN

With Valentines day arriving soon romance is cooking! Romance is sweet. Romance is even sweeter with special Valentines day pastries. The Buttered Tin! http://thebutteredtin.com has great speciality treats for the holiday.  My favorite is the Heart Shaped Whoopie cookie. It has a thin layer of raspberry jam sandwiched between heart shaped sugar cookies.  Especially since City Pages considers it one of the best restaurants in the area http://www.citypages.com/bestof/2014/award/best-restaurant-in-lowertown-3324166/ you definitely need to have reservations in order to get a table on Saturdays and Sundays.  Open only from 7am-3pm this place is a great brunch spot. http://www.citypages.com/2013-08-21/restaurants/the-buttered-tin-remakes-breakfast-classics/. My personal brunch favorite is the loaded hash browns. However when I am taking a stroll on a Saturday afternoon, I am always able to get their pastries to go. And with Valentines day treats like cheese cake, specialty cupcakes and the heart shaped whoopie cookies I can't resist a brief visit into this charming bakery!
